  • The Officer Cadets Basic Military training cycle is 12 months
  • Recruitment is done yearly
Who is eligible?
  • Botswana citizens
  • Aged between 18 and 24 years. On exceptional cases, age may be waived to recruit someone who is already holding a profession e.g. Medical Doctor

Qualifications​​​​​​

  • Minimum qualification for Officer Cadets is a Degree

Requirements

  • Candidate should possess a valid National Identity Card (Omang) or show valid proof of registration
  • Candidates should be physically and mentally fit in accordance with the BDF Recruitment Medical Standards
  • Minimum height of 165 cm for Males and 160 cm for Females
  • Minimum body weight of 55 Kg for Males and 45 Kg for Females
  • All candidates undergo the selection process, which include both physical fitness assessment and comprehensive medical examination
  • Female candidates must not be pregnant.
