The Office of the President is responsible for the organisation and Coordination of Government Business.

It is also responsible for overall development of policy, strategy, standards leadership, direction and oversight
matters relating to defence and security.

APPEALS UNIT

The Appeals Unit handles two types of appeals being general complaints from members of the public pertaining to disgruntlement in operations of Government and other sectors and application for Presidential Pardons. 

  1. General Appeals

     All sectors are involved in resolving these appeals. Members of the Public are urged to exhaust all channels of appeal in the respective sectors before submitting an appeal to the Office of the President.

  2.  Application for Presidential Pardon

    These applications are done by individuals who have previous convictions and wish to apply for employment and or any other opportunity where security/police clearance is a requirement. These include Study Permits, Visa, Special Licenses, employment in Security Companies, etc. The applications are done pursuant to Section 53 of the Constitution

CABINET OFFICE

Cabinet Office is responsible for providing administrative duties for Cabinet Ministers.  The Office is responsible for facilitating linkages between the Legislature and Executive.

PUBLIC SECTOR REFORMS

The office exists to coordinate sectoral reforms and to facilitate the delivery of the government modernization programme.

FUNCTIONS

  • It leads and/or provide functional expertise on strategy management.
  • Develop and facilitate implementation of new reforms.
  • Develop strategic approach to performance management and implementation of effective and robust performance management systems and procedures for Permanent Secretaries.
  • Provide strategic guidance for programs, strategies and initiatives to government ministries/ departments.
  • Facilitate capacity building initiatives in support of visionary leadership development.
  • Promote strategic partnerships with various Ministries for effective strategic planning, execution, monitoring and evaluation of government's interventions.
  • Develop and oversee the implementation of the Public Sector Reform Coordination Programme (PSRCP).
  • Facilitate coordination between Public Sector Reforms, in their design and implementation, including cross-cutting implications, and support Reforms to overcome their challenges and bottlenecks.
  • Annual Monitoring and Evaluation of Public Sector Reforms.
  • Inform Government decisions on Governance of Public Sector Reforms and advice on related matters.
